Experienced practitioners -'experts in general practice'

We are owned by senior solicitors with a proud record of more than 50 years in practice and a strong reputation for sound and practical advice. When clients face change in their life, work, location, investments or jobs we are here to help - both businesses and individuals.

We are frequently asked about process and  how things work - these all develop at amazing pace. Our clients want us to find a way to get things done as simply as is possible. We aim to find a way to achieve your goals. We can give you the confidence to meet the challenge of the unfamiliar.

We offer a wide spread of general legal advice and work on many types of contract, advising and preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney and help you to manage gifts and trusts,  estates and property.

We can provide support in court proceedings and arrange representation at tribunals.  We offer an outsourcing resource for professional firms and offer consultancy on regulatory and training issues.

For buyers and sellers  we offer a ‘Move Ready’ service to ensure that marketing can proceed  for sellers and to enable buyers to make the right enquiries. We recognise that both sellers and buyers want to avoid delays and abortive transaction expense. Our service dovetails with solicitors who take matters forward once a sale is agreed.

This means that we will not carry out the types of work classified as ‘reserved activities’ that must be carried out under statutory regulation.

We do not hold client money or undertake conveyancing or court proceedings.  We will refer that type of work and complex legal matters to an associated regulated firm of solicitors.

Our services do not include criminal law work and we do not operate under the authorisation of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

We have increased flexibility to meet our clients’ needs having opted out of SRA regulation.  We also expect to achieve  increased speed as well as savings on compliance requirements and insurance costs as we will not be required to maintain the SRA professional compulsory indemnity insurance policy. Its high premiums are required to subsidise the high cost demanded by insurers for claims in the regulated sector of the legal profession. Instead, we have arranged commercial insurance cover tailored and proportionate to the needs of the work we will accept.

Why we are dividing our roles?  The separation between types of legal work enables us to provide, at lower cost, a wider range of advice and services than we could as an authorised firm.     Despite our good standing and reputation in the regulated profession and a long and proud record we strongly believe that prices have been put out of reach to many of our loyal former clients who need help.

We are pleased to offer  services  in matters that raise legal issues and where the costs of a regulated firm may not be necessary. We aim to make our services convenient and affordable.
